5 Step Fertilization/Weed Control Program

(approximately 5 weeks apart starting in April)

At Stockinger LawnScape Solutions, your lawn is our number one concern. Each time we make a Fertilizing Application, we will look for ways to improve your lawn quality and give these recommendations to you. After each application is finished, we will leave a sheet of information and instructions with the invoice on how to care for your lawn to get the best results from the fertilization. In addition, by signing up for the Weekly Mowing program with Stockinger LawnScape Solutions, will allow us to continually monitor your lawn throughout the summer and make changes wherever they are needed.

  • 1st Application - This application will be a blend of fertilizer and crabgrass pre-emergent. The granular, slow release fertilizer will promote plant growth in order to get your lawn ready for the summer. We will search the yard for Broadleaf Weeds and treat with herbicide if there is evidence of early weed growth
  • 2nd Application - The second application will consist of a slow release granular fertilizer to promote plant growth and iron for quality turf color. Broadleaf weeds will also be treated with herbicide at this time.
  • 3rd Application - During the third application, we will use granular fertilizers that are blended to give the lawn the strength it needs to get through the heat and stress of the hot summer. Broadleaf weeds will be "spot treated" during this time as we don't want to broadcast treat them during the high heat times. Broadcast treatment of weeds when it is hot leaves the lawn susceptible to burning and invites disease to move in.
  • 4th Application - This application will consist of another granular slow release fertilizer treatment including iron for extra color. The weeds will be targeted heavily again in order to kill them before they go into seed. By targeting weeds at this time of year allows us to have better control over them the following year.
  • 5th Application - This is our Fall blended fertilizer treatment. A slow release granular fertilizer with the proper nutrients to prepare the lawn for winter will be applied at this time. This fertilizer will promote root growth and allow the plant to start saving up energy for the winter months. This fertilizer will also promote early spring "green up".

Please note that many times, a new customer that has never had a Fertilization/Weed Control program, may not see the full effect of the treatments until the following year. It takes time, and the proper care of your lawn in order to build a healthy lawn. We want to create a trusting realationship with all of our customers and will provide the best products we can to promote the best looking lawn in the neighborhood.
